Tenders to develop $ 3.3Bn worth gas and power projects are on offer by the State-run utility CFE in Mexico.
Gas pipeline and power transmission infrastructure both 1000 km each and the new generating capacity of 666 MW are to be developed.
According to Enrique Ochoa Reza, CFE chief executive CFE, the strategy is increase efficiency; is to keep expanding gas pipeline system and to restructure power plants to use natural gas instead of current use of fuel oil. Final stage of the strategy would be to carry out tenders for the development of new combined-cycle power plants.”
