Samrat Choudhary, Urban Development Minister confirmed that due to high cost, “The Patna Metro rail” will be developed on the public private partnership (PPP) model.
The project cost would be approximately Rs.15,000 crore against the earlier estimation of Rs.17,000 crore.
The state government is awaiting detailed project report (DPR) from RITES – The Rail India Technical and Economic Service by Oct 31. The process to invite tenders for implementing the project will start soon.
PMRC – Patna metro rail corporation will be formed to supervise the construction.
This project is one of the initiatives to decongest overcrowded lanes in the city of Patna which has a population of almost 20 lacs.
